Individual Lessons

We offer a range of lesson lengths tailored to the age and level of each student. With durations from 15 to 60 minutes, our individualized lessons accommodate varying attention spans and help foster a productive and enjoyable learning environment. Students are also encouraged to observe others’ lessons, as this is a key learning tool in the Suzuki method.

Each week, our teachers work with you and your child during individual lessons, focusing on aspects such as tonalization, review materials, prepared material, and previewing new material. A significant portion of each lesson is dedicated to developing tone and musicality. Parents are asked to observe without distracting the child, and to take notes on the teacher’s instructions in order to support their child’s learning at home.

Punctuality is essential to ensuring a full lesson and the opportunity for regular observation. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time, and observing the lessons of students before and after your own. This practice not only reinforces and motivates your child, but also fosters a sense of community and support within the program.

Parents are encouraged to bring a notebook to each lesson, documenting the teacher’s instructions for easy reference and review. Please remember to bring supplies such as music and rosin to every lesson as well. This comprehensive approach will help create a positive and engaging learning experience for both you and your child, setting the stage for musical success.
